Grenadian Anthony Modeste scored Hazard's last goal
as they ran past Bull Bay 3-0 in Jamaica's Wray & Nephew National Premier
League (NPL) at the Ferdie Neita Park on Thursday.
Hazard, who will face the Geoffrey Maxwell-coached
Village United in the final four phase, played a moderate game, which was more
of a warm-up for the League leaders.
Bull Bay, on the other hand, with nothing to lose,
went through the motions and honoured their fixtures with a good game, although
they were not able to get on the scoresheet.
Hazard netted in the 23rd minute courtesy of Andrew
Morrison as the first half ended 1-0. The winners increased their lead in the
69th minute through Kevin Deer.
Captain Roen Nelson, however, did not score although
he got several chances. Hazard's coach, Lenworth Hyde, saw the need for goals
and introduced Modeste who wasted no time in completing the score in the 75th
minute when he eluded the defenders to slot home.
Nicholas
Dodd of Bull Bay played well but was not able to do more than his share in the
midfield.
Hyde said he knows Village will be a hard team to
beat in the semis, but his team has met them in three encounters and have a fair
knowledge of how they play. His team, Hyde says, will only have the right
attitude and go into the game with a positive intention to take the lead in the
first leg.
Modeste has been a consistent starter for Hazard
since joining the team on loan from Anchor Queen’s Park Rangers (QPR) last
December.
