[GOA]

There could be a changing of the guards when the Grenada Olympic Association (GOA) holds its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Saturday.

The GOA, which is headed by Royston LaHee, has been heavily criticized by some sports commentators for its 'low-profiled' approach on major sporting developments on the island.

The GOA has been supporting and assisting most of the sporting organisations on the island with little knowledge to the public.

However, Saturday’s meeting is not expected to attract the attention as recent AGMs of football and netball.

There are reports that the current General Secretary, Veda Bruno-Victor could be a likely candidate for the presidency of the GOA.

Mrs Bruno-Victor has been described as one of the more influential sport administrator in the region.

However, her accomplishment as general secretary has commanded great respect in the pan-caribbean region.

Meantime, the annual Olympic Day Run is scheduled for Sunday June 22. The GOA will be coordinating the event which will start at the Tanteen Recreation Ground and ends at the National Stadium.

The event, which would co-incide with the National Track and Field Championships at the National Stadium, is open to anyone interested.
